Book a Talk

If you’re an educator supporting students who are hoping to enter the film & TV industry, in the hair and makeup department, I know how big that step from training to working as a trainee can feel...because I’ve been there.

I speak to the students about what it’s actually like starting out, honestly, practically, and without overcomplicating things. The aim is to give them a clearer idea of what to expect, help build their confidence, and make that first step into the industry feel a bit less daunting.

What I can cover:

  • The industry overview
  • The role of a trainee on set (what you’ll really be doing day-to-day)
  • Set etiquette and how to conduct yourself professionally
  • Career progression and pay
  • Creating an eye catching CV
  • Getting your first jobs and building experience
  • Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)
  • Confidence, nerves, and finding your feet on set
  • And more...

Talks can be tailored depending on the group, whether that’s current students or recent graduates who are starting to look for work.

I offer a range of options depending on your needs, including different talk lengths and formats, or even as an industry panellist. Options include either a speaker fee or a minimum book order for students. I’m always happy to discuss what works best for you, as I know how beneficial these talks can be for students.

If you’d like to arrange a talk for your school or university, please get in touch via hello@trainingtotrainee.co.uk to discuss.
